Oregon Health and Sciences University Usability Report

Purpose

This usability test collected data for OHSU on the accessibility and use of their microsites by the Limited English Proficiency (LEP) demographic in Oregon. In this study, we focused specifically on the Spanish and Russian-speaking communities. The test was conducted by asking users to perform a number of tasks on the OHSU Spanish and Russian microsites and then complete a survey. The results from this study allowed us to understand how LEP users experienced the site and highlighted the barriers they met. The data collected from this usability test will help OHSU determine how the site is being used and help OHSU identify any unmet accessibility needs.

This was a large project that pushed my boundaries as a technical communicator into the frontiers of user and accessibility research as well as document design.
